One of the easiest and yummy way to add Turmeric to your diet is by drinking "Golden Milk" every day, preferably before bed.
Turmeric paste:
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
2-3 cardamom pods (seeds only, crushed)
1/4 cup turmeric powder
2 Tbs coconut oil
1-2 Tbs raw honey
1/2 cup water + 1/2 cup (or more) if needed to add extra
- in a small pot add the turmeric powder and 1/2 cup water and simmer on med-low heat stirring constantly for 5 min. Add more water if it gets too dry. It should have smooth paste like consistency
- add all spices (the black pepper is a must, the rest if you don't like them you can omit) and the coconut oil. Keep stirring and cook for 3 more minutes
- take off the heat and add the raw honey if you wish
Let the paste cool down before you move it to a glass jar for storing. It should be stored in the fridge and it is good for up to 2 weeks.
To make the Golden milk, gently heat a cup of Organic Soy or Almond milk and add 1 tsp of the paste. Whisk if you wish to get it "foamy" and enjoy!
I prefer the Soy milk as it has phytoestrogens that are excellent for Breast health.
